No Excuse Arizona clinches victory with standout performances, showcasing the rising talent in Southwest lacrosse.

Naples, FL — The No Excuse Arizona 2025 lacrosse team celebrated a spectacular victory at the Legends Southeast Invitational, finishing 6-0 on the weekend. Held at the Paradise Sports Complex November 2nd and 3rd, 2024, and competing in the HS Elite division, the Arizona squad secured the championship trophy with a mix of skill, tenacity, and teamwork that showcased their dedication to the game.


Under the guidance of head coaches Dustin Kowell and Chad Toliver, who are also co-directors of the program, the team pulled off some big time wins against some of the top programs in club lacrosse. Their performance was a testament to their weekend long efforts, battling back during multiple games and traveling halfway across the country. The win further emphasizes No Excuse Arizona’s commitment to excellence, sportsmanship, and competitiveness as core values, fulfilling the program’s mission to elevate Arizona lacrosse to new heights.


Key Standout Players

Several players delivered standout performances that propelled No Excuse Arizona to victory. Notably, Harry Gurash was a dominant force on attack, utilizing his speed and precision to keep pressure on opposing defenses, while also adding a spectacular backhanded goal. Diego Balderrama held down the fort in goal, displaying incredible reflexes and game sense to stop critical shots throughout the tournament.  He also had a crucial 3 save sequence to seal the championship game. Jake Beaver and Daviyon Graves shone bright in the midfield, where their agility and control helped maintain the team’s offensive and defensive balance. Daviyon Graves also added in a absurd behind the back shot on day 1.


Additionally, Davis Witherspoon and Jace White contributed significantly on attack, finding the back of the net at key moments to secure their team’s advancement through the playoff rounds.  Jace White was all over the scoring column this weekend, adding an insane one handed jump and finish. The attacks chemistry and knack for reading the defense proved essential to Arizona’s offensive success, making both players crucial assets in the championship push. The win at the Legends Southeast Invitational highlights the club’s ongoing success. The class of 2025 already boasts an impressive roster of college commitments with 10 overall so far. Including Davis Witherspoon (Arcadia/Berry College), Naythen Bowden(West Valley/Missouri Baptist University), and Jace White (Perry/Lewis University). The No Excuse Arizona Lacrosse future sure looks bright.

Mean Green score two late touchdowns in final minutes to rally past the Owls, improving to 5-1 on the season North Texas mounted a thrilling late-game comeback to defeat Florida Atlantic 41-37 in Boca Raton, securing their second American Athletic Conference victory of the season. Quarterback Chandler Morris led the charge, throwing four touchdown passes, including two critical strikes to DT Sheffield in the final minutes, sealing the win for the Mean Green. Trailing 37-27 with just under three minutes left, Morris engineered an impressive eight-play, 75-yard drive, capping it off with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Sheffield. With the clock winding down and only 1:43 remaining, North Texas' defense made a stand, forcing a punt and giving Morris another chance to work his magic. The offense quickly moved down the field in five plays, with a crucial 34-yard run by Shane Porter setting up a first-and-goal at the FAU 5-yard line. Morris then connected with Sheffield for a 3-yard touchdown, putting North Texas ahead for good.

CJ Campbell Jr. Shines as Owls Secure Second Win of the Season Florida Atlantic University (FAU) delivered a commanding performance Saturday night, overpowering Wagner College with a decisive 41-10 victory. The Owls, now 2-3 on the season, demonstrated early dominance when CJ Campbell Jr. capped a 75-yard opening drive with a 4-yard touchdown run just 32 seconds into the game. This opening statement set the tone for the evening, as Campbell went on to rush for another touchdown, amassing 145 yards on the ground with an impressive 9.7 yards per carry. In the post-game press conference, Campbell attributed his recent success to patience and hard work while acknowledging that the Owls still haven't reached their full potential. "We have yet to play a complete game," Campbell remarked, hinting at the team's room for growth. He also highlighted the competitive yet complementary dynamic between him and second-string running back Zuberi Mobley. Mobley, who averaged 7.0 yards per carry on 11 attempts, added his own touchdown late in the first half, further solidifying FAU's rushing attack.
